DIY Halloween Costumes

by Stefanie Hindmarch, guest blogger

Are you tired of the cliché, poor-quality costumes in the stores? These DIY tutorials will teach you how to make fun costumes that will stand out on Halloween.

DIY from Martha Stewart

Jellyfish
This is definitely an original costume, and it doesn’t involve any sewing! All you really need is bubble wrap, glue, and an umbrella. Don’t worry about the rain; this costume doubles as your own personal shelter while looking really cool.

Bat
This bat costume is perfect for Halloween and isn’t too difficult to make. With a hoodie and an umbrella, you’ll be ready in no time!

Rock, Paper, Scissors
Looking for a fun group costume? With foam board and poster board, you can go with two of your friends as rock, paper, and scissors. This is a costume that you definitely won’t find at the Halloween store!

Cactus
This costume is unique and a lot of fun. All you need is green clothes, pipe cleaners, and a good cactus pose.

  1. I love Halloween and making costumes for me and my family is one of my favorite projects. This year I'm doing a demon headdress and I need to sew up a Grim Reaper costume and Jack Skellington one.
Thanks for featuring my site on here.

  2. Great Halloween Costumes! Thanks for including my 2 DIY Knitted Newborn Baby Costumes – Carrots and Peas. You can see them on adorable just born twins when you click on the picture! BTW – they only take a few hours to knit and you only need basic knitting skills.
