Want to join me on a summertime creative adventure? |
Looking for inspiration for a blog post or for your art journal? This blog post includes an art journal prompt and a challenge for you to write or create each week this summer.
About #52lists
This year I got started on art journal and list making. Blogger Moorea Seal had been posting ideas on her blog each week for a list. Since she opened her new boutique in Seattle she understandable has let the 52 weeks of list making fall by the wayside…but that is no reason for you or I to stop making lists.
What are YOU most looking forward to this summer? |
Summertime List Challenge
I decided to pick up the baton and host a weekly creative challenge. Each week I will post an idea for you. You can answer the challenge in any medium you want where you simply want to write a list, make a more elaborate spread in your art journal, make an artwork on a theme or anything else. The point is that we do it and share in a weekly link up party! I will host the link up right here on my blog. You can add a link to a brand new creative work or even an older one.. You can add your link right away or come back to it in a week or two. It is all up to you. All link parties will be open until the official close of summer on September 21st.
Summertime means barefoot in the sand! |
Summer Has Begun
Summer officially begins on June 21st.. In New York, my kids still have school through June 25th, believe it or not.. I know for some, they feel summer is already here with their children out of school or their pool open.
This Week’s Challenge
So in keeping with the start of summer, this week’s challenge is to make a list of what you are most looking forward to this summer. (perhaps this weekly challenge?)

i truly adore those blogging challenges + would've loved to participate in a couple if only i have the time. we have just recently bid goodbye to summer in our parts of the world that is why it sure is a treat whenever the sun is up + shining these rainy + gloomy days. what i love most about summer is the beach, the sand, flip flops + loads of free time to enjoy with my boys! 🙂
I think of beaches, sunshine, water, pools.. Summer is all about getting wet and having fun.
Summer is over here in our country but for me summer is the time to enjoy the beach and eat healthy fruits.
Summer means time to get the AC set up! So far we haven't had to so that's really cool! Summers means longer days and sunshine!
Whoa! I love this! I think Summer means hot weather and crowded streets (because of where I live). Positive is the beach!
This art is so cool. I love it. I want to post them on my wall!
I am so thrilled to be in shorts and T Shirts going for a few walks a day. I have my daughters puppy so am out everyday walking.
Summer is for me the time for outdoor dinners, big walks and salsa parties by the lake, when i'm in the city. And also the time for planning a holiday or just a short weekend with friends in the mountains, by the sea or just cycling around.
The summer school will start on the 21st here, when the kids are in school I will be outside gardening. Looking forward for more outdoor activities fun with my kids.
love this artwork, this would be a cool activity to do with the kids.. we got a lot of traveling we're doing in June alone, not sure about the rest of Summer vacations, we have til Sept to decide.
I love this idea of the art journal. I am looking forward to visiting my sister, her husband, and my new lil nephew who will be born in Aug..
My summertime challenge is to learn swimming 🙁
we have been on summer break for a few weeks and it's so nice having my 11 year old home to help me. That is when she's not at a sports camp, grandmas house or a friends house. Oh well they are only young once and need to have fun too.
This looks like a really great challenge! I wish I had an artistic ability but sadly even my stick people are bad!
Summer is a great time to relax and to have fun with your family.
Such a great challege! Good luck 🙂
Summer is really fun in our country since we have a lot of beaches being an archipelago. I love summer because it's my time outdoors without worrying about the rain.
This summer has been a challenge for me, Im trying to relac
Funny to read this by the fire. 😀 Summer still means no packed school lunches. 🙂
Wow there are so many things I'm looking forward this summer mostly seens my beautiful baby face
to me it's pretty much the same as the rest of the year, but my office is slower so i can take some time off to blog! and my daughter is going away to college in the fall, so this will give us some time together.
What a great challenge! Summer used to mean vacations from school, hot days, swimming and having fun without responsabilities. Now I don't have summers anymore since there are no seasons at the equator. Basicly it's summer weather all the time, just bit hotter, and bit more humid from time to time, lol. Sadly the no responsabilities part doesn't qualify.
Summer is a great time to enjoy the outside, read, enjoy time with family and friends, and just enjoy life. LOVE IT!!!!!
I like your list. Summer means garage sales and frisbee golf. Yay!!!!!!!!
This is such great idea. Summer is all about relaxing and enjoying time with friends and family for me, especially since I am gone the other nine months of the year!
Summer means having fun in the outdoors going to the beach, picnics, grilling. I love it!
Summer means a nice vacation.. I cannot wait to unplug and veg out.
Summer means the lack of schedules and the chance to just wing it and do what comes. I really love the free time.
Before, summer used to mean vacation and having fun under the sun. Nowadays however, the sun's heat is too hot that it can cause severe damage to the skin. So for us now, we still enjoy summer but not the same as before.
