with host artist Miriam Schulman

If you were to scroll through my Instagram, you would be seeing a lot of cat pictures and videos. Now, I’ve always thought that cats were just really popular these days but it turns out that these apps actually built my feed according to an algorithm that knows how much I like cats! My friends (who are dog people) have feeds filled with.. you guessed it…cute puppies. After years of building a following on social media, it can be discouraging to learn that these platforms are algorithm based, not follower based. Tune into this episode to learn the ONE platform that still shows all your content to your followers.

When you don’t believe something’s going to work for y ou, you will sabotage yourself because your brain hates to be wrong and it will look for ways to prove yourself right” – Miriam Schulman

In this podcast, you will discover…

  • Learn why social media is best for connecting
  • Discover marketing trends that actually work, especially for artists
  • Explore strategies that are fitting for what you’re selling

“If you believe you’re not going to sell art, your brain hates to be wrong and your brain will work to prove you right.” – Miriam Schulman

About the host, Miriam Schulman

In case we haven’t met yet, I’m an artist and founder of The Inspiration Place, where I help other artists learn how to profit from their passion or become better artists. Through online classes, business coaching programs, and a top-ranked podcast, I’ve helped thousands of artists around the world develop their skill sets and create more time and freedom to do what they love. My signature coaching program, The Artist Incubator, helps artists go from so-so sales to sold-out collections.

After witnessing 9/11, I abandoned a lucrative hedge fund job to work on my art full time. Since then, my art and story have been featured in major publications including Forbes, What Women Create, The New York Times, Art of Man, Art Journaling magazine as well as featured on NBC’s “Parenthood” and the Amazon series “Hunters” with Al Pacino. Check out my best-selling book with HarperCollins Leadership, Artpreneur, how to make money from your creativity, wherever books are sold. When I’m not in the studio, I split my time between New York City and a farmhouse in the country. Listener shout out of the week!

Logical, practical and magical!
Inspiration hardly covers what I get from listening to this podcast. I stumbled upon Miriam’s words early this summer and listened to almost the entire library of episodes throughout the summer months while painting in my studio. Everything about this podcast is relatable to me. It’s as if Miriam is in my head and sorting through my thoughts of confusion and answering questions I’ve had rattling around for years. Her pure logic with a touch “woo woo” is exactly what I needed. I subsequently ordered her book and read it cover to cover the week before a show. Lo and behold, armed with my new mindset, I sold a $1000 painting! Thank you Miriam. I know this is just the beginning!
