In June 2021, something incredible happened that may have included you. Over 4 million people quit their jobs (source). Many people have reached a breaking point and are no longer satisfied working in a job that is unfulfilling. If you’ve been in this situation, you may agree. It can feel like your energy and soul are literally being drained out of your body.
Christa Forrest is living her dream as a full-time artist. She walked away from the prestige, stress, and anxiety of a financial career serving in private wealth management at Merrill Lynch.
Walking away from a lifeless existence only working to pay bills may be simpler than you imagine. Regardless of your art medium and style, pursuing your passion is worth the challenge when the reward is the freedom to create and live on your own terms.
“Just enjoy life and be amazing about what you do.”
– Christa Forrest

Christa is a full-time artist specializing in pastel, oil, acrylic and mixed media art. After spending 20 years in a finance career, she decided to follow her true passion and become a full-time artist. Christa spends her time sharing her passion with others, teaching others to be creative and exploring the world’s landscape recreating it onto canvas. Her work is a mixture of realism, exploration, experimentation and pure fun.
She began creating a detailed and expressive Goddess series where she incorporates the divine feminine and illustrates the strength many women struggle to connect with in their daily lives. “We remember to nourish our bodies with food and water but seem to forget to remember to nourish our souls.” Why do we find our inner selves starving and yearning for something more? Christa hopes to encourage everyone to unleash their inner Goddess through her artwork.
To help others achieve their creative success and provide guidance, Christa created Creative Souls Art. This is the journey that includes instructional online courses, ebooks, live events and workshops that guide creatives along throughout the process. Christa’s goal is to help creatives learn to nourish their soul using Creative Souls Art as the process. This path explores creating from within, approaching the process intuitively without the fear and pressure of perfection and judgement. To create amazingness!
About the host, Miriam Schulman
In case we haven’t met yet, I’m an artist and founder of The Inspiration Place, where I help other artists learn how to profit from their passion. Through online classes, business coaching programs, and a top-ranked podcast, I’ve helped thousands of artists around the world develop their skill sets and create more time and freedom to do what they love. My signature coaching program, The Artist Incubator, helps artists go from so-so sales to sold-out collections.
After witnessing 9/11, I abandoned a lucrative hedge fund job to work on my art full time. Since then, my art and story have been featured in major publications including Forbes, What Women Create, The New York Times, Art of Man, Art Journaling magazine as well as featured on NBC’s “Parenthood” and the Amazon series “Hunters” with Al Pacino. Check out my best-selling book with HarperCollins Leadership, Artpreneur, how to make money from your creativity, wherever books are sold. When I’m not in the studio, I split my time between New York City and a farmhouse in the country. This is definitely what I needed to hear to calm some of the fears and self doubt I have sometimes in regards to my art. Steadily working out the kinks, thanks for this!
